The best way to view your app is on your phone. Use the Share feature in the app to get a viewable link:
1. In the app, tap **Share**
2. Copy the link using the **Copy** button (the link will look like an Expo URL)
3. Open the copied link on your phone to view your app
For web preview, you can also use the "App Preview" page. Note that many features (maps, camera, photo upload, date selectors, etc.) are best experienced on the phone.
Yes! For previewing purposes apps are only viewable on iOS, but when the app is ready it can be launched to both the App Store and Google Play Store.
Yes! Paid users can export code. Navigate to "Your Projects" then click the download icon on the app you would like to export.
Yes, on the App Preview page select the notification icon. You will see a version history and have the ability to restore to previous versions.
Yes! All apps on Woz come with sign up / log in with email authentication. For previewing purposes, the email authentication requirement is turned off. Before submitting to the App Store email authentication will be turned on.
Yes! If there is an AI chat in your app it is real and has been customized with the basic understanding of your app.
Want to continue building with another AI tool? On the App Preview page, select the code icon and then connect to your tool of choice via SSH. SSH keeps all changes synced so you can return to Woz at any time.

Integrations extend your Woz app with powerful third-party features—from AI chat and image generation to voice, music, maps, and payments. You do not need to write any code. Pick an integration, copy the example prompt, and paste it into Woz chat. Woz handles the rest.

## Step 1 – Open the Integrations Tab
In the left sidebar of your Woz workspace, click the **Integrations** icon. It sits between the Database and Analytics tabs.

## Step 2 – Browse and Choose an Integration
The Integrations screen shows all available integrations organised by category. You will find:
* **AI tools** from OpenAI, Google Gemini, Google Vertex AI, Grok, and ElevenLabs
* **Capabilities** including text generation, image creation, voice synthesis, music generation, speech transcription, and video generation
Scroll through the list and find the integration that fits what you want to add to your app.

Click on any integration to expand it. Each integration includes ready-made example prompts written specifically for Woz. These prompts are designed to work immediately with no modifications needed. Pick the one that matches what you want to build.

You do not need to modify the example prompt to get started. Paste it as is and let Woz add the integration. Once it is done, you can then prompt Woz to adjust how the feature behaves in your specific app.
Add one integration at a time to verify each works correctly. Use Plan Mode if you want Woz to show you a plan before adding multiple integrations.

You’ll need to download VS Code, a plug-in or “extension” to make the connection between your computer and our secure server, and a short series of code-snippets to save your changes.
### Getting set-up

2. **Install an “SSH - Remote” extension.**\
This allows you to securely access your app’s code while we continue to host it on the Woz platform.

4. Optional: Find the "Terminal" within VS Code, which you will use to save your changes.
### Opening your code files in VS Code
1. **Open the "Dev Tools" menu** in the top navigation bar of Woz Builder.
2. **Click "Open with VS Code"**\
You may receive a pop-up confirming that you want to open the VS Code application. Select "Open in Visual Studio Code" to continue.
3. **In VS Code click "Yes" on the pop-up** noting that an external application (Woz) wants to open a folder.\

4. **Return to Woz, and copy the password out of the Dev Tools menu. Paste it into VS Code.**
5. **Click "Trust folder & Continue" on the pop-up in VS Code.**
6. **Paste the password into the top navigation of VS Code again**, allowing VS Code to access the Woz server.
Ignore and clear any notifications you may receive suggesting that you install or download Deno or Git. These are not needed to make changes to your app code.
7. **Confirm that you are connected**\
Once connected, you will see all of the folders and files generated by Woz containing your app code. In the lower left corner of VS Code, you should also see "SSH:" followed by a string of unreadable text. This confirms that you are securely connected to the Woz server.\

If encountering SSH connecton problems, please close VS Code and try again.
### Making and saving changes to your app
1. Edit the code in VS Code
2. Open a "new terminal" window
3. Paste "npm run sshbuilder:git-push-deploy" and press enter
4. Preview your changes on the App Preview page of Woz Builder, or on your phone by opening the shareable link!
Environment variables need to be added or changed from the Woz Builder, Integrations table. Updates to environment variables from VS Code, even after committed to git, may be lost the next time you open your SSH workspace.
# Connect to Claude Code

### Getting set-up

This is the tool you will use to view and edit your app code.
2. Sign up with [**Github**](https://github.com/)\
This allows you to publish your changes.
3. Open **Terminal**, which you will use to connect to our server, and save your changes.
### Opening your code files in Claude Code
1. **Open the "Dev Tools" menu** and select **"Open with Claude Code"**\
A modal will display with specific instructions for connection with Claude via your Terminal app.
2. **In Terminal, enter your connection string**\
This starts with "ssh" \
You may receive a confirmation message within Terminal asking whether you want to connect to the Woz server. Type "yes" and press enter.
3. **In Terminal, enter your password**\
This is available in the modal with instructions for connecting with Claude. Remember, when Terminal asks for a password, nothing will appear as you type. You can paste the password if you right-click, paste. Ignore the Amazon Linux message;
4. **Confirm that you are connected**\
You should see a welcome message from Claude in your Terminal window.

2. **Accept the confirmations**\
• You may receive a pop-up confirming that you want to open the Cursor application. Select "Open Cursor" to continue.\
• Click "Yes" on the pop-up noting that an external application (Woz) wants to open a folder.\
• Click "Yes" on the confirmation asking "Do yout trust this host?"
3. **Return to Woz, and copy the password out of the Dev Tools menu, and paste it into Cursor.**
You may have to enter the password up to three times to access your code folder.
Ignore and clear any notifications you may receive suggesting that you install or download Deno or Git. These are not needed to make changes to your app code.
4. **Confirm that you are connected**\
In the lower left corner of Cursor, you should see "SSH:" followed by a string of unreadable text. This confirms that you are securely connected to the Woz server.\
\
If encountering SSH connecton problems, please close your Cursor window and try again.
Can't see the folders of code of your Woz app in Cursor? \
Go to Cursor's "View" menu, and select "Explorer" to display a directory.
### Making and saving changes to your app
1. **Edit your app code in Cursor**\
We recommend updating Cursor's default model selection to Opus 4.5 for best results. You can change the model in the lower, left corner of the chat box where you enter your prompts to code.
2. \*\*In the Agent chat, write "Publish my changes." \*\*\
This will automatically save your changes after each update.
Changes not visible on your App Preview?\
You can also paste "npm run sshbuilder:git-push-deploy" into a Cursor Terminal window to publish your work.
Sometimes you may need to "Review" or "Keep" changes, or click "Run" before Cursor will publish your work. If Cursor frequently asks whether you would like to publish your change, clicking "Allowlist" just to the left of the "Run" button will increase the likelihood of automatic publishing!
3. A preview of your changes will be visible on the App Preview page of Woz Builder, or on your phone by opening the shareable link. Please note that updates may be a few minutes delayed.
### Reconnecting after your connection times out
After a long period of inactivity, your connection to our server may drop. \
Here's how to get back to editing your app;
1. **Close the Cursor window**\
This does not require quitting the Cursor application.
2. **Return to Woz Builder, and click the "Open in Cursor" button in the Dev Tools menu.**\
This should open a new window within Cursor, and prompt you to enter your password, confirm that you trust Woz, and re-establish a secure connection with the Woz server.
### Managing intergrations from Cursor
Environment variables need to be added or changed from the Woz Builder, Environment Variables table. Updates to environment variables from Cursor, even after committed to git, may be lost the next time you open your workspace.
## Tips for using Cursor with Woz
1. To increase Cursor's accuracy, it's helpful to reference the page name of your app. Page names can be found on in the top navigation bar of the App Preview, or on your Page Map.
2. We recommend updating Cursor's default model selection to Opus 4.5 for best results. You can change the model in the lower, left corner of the chat box where you enter your prompts to code.
3. We do not recommend restoring old versions of you app from within Woz Builder while Cursor is deploying a change.
4. When testing your app on your phone (via the share link), you may discover errors and error information that may be useful to Cursor. Try attaching a screenshot of the error info when prompting to fix an issue.
5. If Cursor frequently asks whether you would like to publish your change, clicking "Allowlist" just to the left of the "Run" button will increase the liklihood of automatic publishing.

This video walks through how to make everyday changes to your app. You can use Plan Mode, Build Mode, Select Elements, and Screenshot to Chat for different types of edits—depending on whether you want to plan first, apply changes quickly, target a specific element, or show what you want visually.
> Unlike other AI-enabled vibecoding tools, ***Woz does not use tokens.*** That means you can make as many changes to your app as you would like without the uncertainty of what it will cost.

### Plan Mode
Plan Mode works like a smart co-pilot that reviews your idea before any building happens. Instead of jumping directly into changes, Woz first analyzes your request and creates a clear step-by-step plan for you to review.
#### How to use it
1. Type what you want to build or change in the prompt bar.
2. Make sure Plan Mode is selected.
3. Send your prompt and Woz will analyze your app.
4. Review the plan that Woz generates.
5. Make edits if needed.
6. Approve the plan and Woz will automatically switch to Build Mode to execute it.
Use Plan Mode for large changes or new features. Reviewing the plan first helps prevent mistakes later.

### Build Mode
Build Mode is designed for situations where you know exactly what you want to change. It skips the planning step and applies the change immediately.
#### How to use it
1. Switch to Build Mode using the toggle in the prompt bar.
2. Describe the change you want to make.
3. Send the prompt and Woz will apply the change immediately.
4. Check the preview panel to confirm the result.
If your change affects multiple screens or features, use Plan Mode instead. For quick edits, Build Mode is faster.

### Select Elements

## Undoing edits
If you want to undo a change or revert your app to an earlier version, you can do this using Version History.
